Community Hubs: Spaces of Social Innovation and Participation

Community hubs are among the most effective examples of social innovation. These multifunctional spaces host a variety of activities and engage diverse social actors, addressing local needs while promoting inclusion and collaboration.

This initiative is part of a broader research project by EURICSE on community activation and social transformation. The multi-year project “Community Enterprises: In Search of New Practices of Social Transformation” involves several partners, including EURICSE, Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation, CRC Foundation, Fondazione con il Sud, FondoSviluppo FVG, and the Alliance of Italian Cooperatives.

Impact

The development of community hubs has strengthened local social infrastructure, empowered communities through participatory practices, and created sustainable spaces for innovation, services, and cultural exchange.

Next steps

The research project "Enterprising Communities in Italy" continues to explore social innovation examples, offering a replicable model across regions. New community hubs are being scaled to deepen their social impact.
